Why is sorting an important math skill ?

Sorting is a crucial early math skill because it helps children identify similarities and differences between objects which lays strong foundation for more complex mathematical concepts.

This activity is perfect for all toddlers (2-3 yrs old) and parents love it too !!

Supplies Needed

1. UNO cards
2. Construction papers or Paper plates – red , yellow , green and blue

Let’s Play & Learn

Lay all these 4 (red , yellow , green and blue) plates on the table or any flat surface . Now stack up all the UNO cards in a pile and lay them upside down , keep this on one side.

Now the activity begins with toddler picking one card at a time from the pile of cards and sorting it into the correct color of construction paper , for ex – red cards will go on red plate/paper.

This activity is highly engaging and fun for toddlers and keeps them busy for quite a good time.
